Privacy Policy

Zizipay Technologies (Registration No. 2026/579604/07). Last updated 2026.

1. What this policy covers

This policy explains how Zizipay Technologies collects, uses, stores, and protects personal information in connection with the ZiziPay app and website, in line with South Africa's Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).

2. What we collect

  • Account information you give us directly: name, email, phone number, and identity information required for FICA compliance.
  • Transaction data: payments you send and receive, pay-links you create, and, for business accounts, signing-policy and approval activity.
  • Device and usage information needed to operate the app securely (e.g. session data, IP address at login).

3. Why we collect it

To operate your account, process payments, comply with FICA/AML obligations under our bank-sponsor arrangement, keep the platform secure, and (only with your consent) to send product updates. We do not sell personal information to third parties.

4. How we protect it

Transaction and account data is recorded on a real, immutable audit trail: every action is logged, along with its outcome. Access to sensitive data is role-restricted. An independent security review is planned before real customer funds move at scale.

5. Your rights

Under POPIA, you can ask what personal information we hold about you, request a correction, or request deletion where we're not legally required to retain it (e.g. for FICA record-keeping). Contact us to exercise any of these rights.

6. Contact

Questions about this policy or your personal information can be sent to our support contact once it's live. See the footer for current contact details.
